Lee Allred is the ward-winning author of several dozen fiction stories for professional markets such as Asimov’s Science Fiction and Pulphouse magazines. His works are found in dozens of book anthologies. He has also scripted comic books for Marvel, DC, IDW and Image Comics, including such books as Batman ’66, Batman Black and White, Fantastic Four, FF, Bug! The Adventures of Forager, and Dick Tracy.
His novella “For the Strength of the Hills” was named a Sidewise Award for Alternate History finalist. A great love of history and historical detail infuses all of his work, whether he’s writing steampunk, vampire tales, alternate history, or military sf.
Allred served three rotations in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom for the United States Air Force. After retiring as a Master Sergeant, he settled down to a writing life.
