Inspired by the works of Robert E Howard, Ray Bradbury, J. R. R. Tolkien, H. P. Lovecraft, Edward Abbey, Clive Barker, and various piles of cassette tapes, random pulp novels, blues records, and B-movies, indie author D. S. Coleman writes wild tales of horror, fantasy, action, revenge, and redemption.
His adventurous life as a whitewater guide, trucker, casino dealer, trail cook, musician, artist, and storyteller bleeds into his work like oil bleeds from a ’66 Dodge. Raised in the haunted woods and fields of the Mississippi Delta, Coleman was fascinated at an early age by ancient history and mythology. His musical tastes grew from his childhood, and he still draws inspiration from his love for blues, jazz, classic rock, pirate metal, Norse/Celtic folk, and other music.
After decades of wandering throughout North America, he currently resides on a sagebrush-covered refuge on the Lake Bonneville shore, with his inexplicably patient wife and countless deer, rabbits, and coyotes. The Loser, the Legend, and the Girl Who Tastes Like Sunshine, book one of the genre-bending Song of Grace pulp cosmic horror fantasy adventure series, debuted in the summer of 2024.
