Michael R. Collings is a retired professor of literature, composition, and poetry at Pepperdine University, where he taught for nearly three decades. As a prolific poet, his works are found in several collections. His novels include The House Beyond the Hill (2007), Singer of Lies (2009), The Slab (2011), Static! (2011), Shadow Valley (2011), and Writing Darkness (2012).
His academic works include four papers published by the C. S. Lewis Society, The Annotated Guide to Stephen King: A Primary and Secondary Bibliography of the Works of America’s Premier Horror Writer (1986) and eight other works about King, In the Image of God: Theme, Characterization and Landscape in the Fiction of Orson Scott Card (1990) and three other works about Card, and Hauntings: The Official Peter Straub Bibliography (2000).
The World Horror Convention named him a Grand Master in 2016.
