Rhys Hughes

Rhys Hughes is a writer of fantasy and magic realism who often uses comedy and absurdism to examine philosophical issues. He writes short stories, novellas, and novels, and (to a lesser extent) poetry and nonfiction. He sometimes says that writing is the only thing he’s good at. While he tries to make that sound like a joke, his passion for writing keeps growing stronger!

He was a writer from an early age. He completed his first proper short story when he was fourteen, “The Journey of Mountain Hawk”, and still remembers what it was about even though it no longer exists. His earliest surviving short story dates from 1989, and since that time, he has embarked on an ambitious project of writing a story cycle consisting of exactly 1000 linked tales.
