S. Carleton

Susan Carleton Jones (1865-1926) published under several pen names, including S. Carleton, Carleton-Milecete, and Guy Carleton. She also co-author works with her sister, sister-in-law, and cousins, making it difficult to trace her writing career. A native of Canada, Susan’s work explored themes of belonging, self-discovery, and navigating the complexities of Canadian and English culture. Her stories appeared in various periodicals, including Atlantic Monthly, Lipincott’s Magazine, Pall Mall Magazine, Popular Magazine, Smart Set, and Thrill Book.
