Since its beginnings in the early 1980s, the Life, the Universe, & Everything Symposium academic symposium has been a staple of the Utah and Intermountain West author and artist community. Many authors, artists, and editors found inspiration for their careers at the feet of scores of symposium guests. News for the New Year, 2019 edition

There are currently three anthologies in various stages of planning and production: Trace the Stars comes out on February 14. This collection of space opera and hard science fiction stories is the first in the LTUE Benefit Anthologies series created to help Life, the Universe, & Everything continue to let students attend for a very small membership cost. Call for Submissions closed for A Dragon and Her Girl

Thank you to everyone who submitted stories to be considered for the A Dragon and Her Girl anthology. The call for submissions is now closed. Our next step is reviewing the submissions to determine which stories will be collected in the anthology. We’re looking forward to reading all of the submitted stories. Call for Submissions for A Dragon and Her Girl anthology

This is a call for submissions to participate in A Dragon and Her Girl: Stories of Adventure, the second of the benefit (charity, non-paying) anthologies to help the Life, the Universe, & Everything symposium. The anthology will be jointly published by Hemelein Publications and LTUE Press. As with Trace the Stars, this anthology will be edited by Joe Monson and Jaleta Clegg. It’s been great fun reading all of the submissions since issuing the call in November 2017. There were so many excellent entries that it was hard to select the ones that worked best for this space opera and hard science fiction anthology. Trace the Stars update for January 2018

The first batch of acceptances (and rejections) has been sent out for the Trace the Stars anthology. We are planning to have the anthology be around 100,000 words, and right now we are at about 78,000. If you have not yet submitted, please do so as soon as possible. While the submission period is open until July this year, it looks like that might have been too long a time as we have received so many submissions already. We will continue to consider submissions through the end of the submission period, but your story is more likely to be included…
