Updates for June 2020

We are working on several projects right now: We are reviewing and sending out the edits to authors for Twilight Tales, our light horror anthology. This will take a few days due to COIVD-19 impacting how we work on things here at Hemelein, but they are going out. If you’re waiting for your edits, rest assured they are on their way soon! Twilight Tales is scheduled for a February 2021 release. We are also working with the cover artists to finalize the cover. Once that’s done, we’ll share it with you. We are reviewing the submissions for Parliament of Wizards….

Thank you to everyone who submitted a story (or two) to the call for submissions for Parliament of Wizards! We look forward to reviewing them and deciding which we’d like to include. We appreciate your support of the symposium. You can see the original call for submissions here.

Call for Submissions: Parliament of Wizards

LTUE Benefit/Charity Anthology #4 – Parliament of Wizards Note: The call for submissions has been extended to May 30, 2020 due to COVID-19 disruptions. The call is now closed. Thank you for your submissions! Note 2: Due to COIVD-19 issues, we have slightly missed the September 1 deadline we set for ourselves for sending out acceptances and rejections for submissions. Tangent Online 2019 Recommended Reading List

Tangent Online has been reviewing short science fiction and fantasy for nearly three decades. Each year, they release a recommended reading list of new short fiction, and their 2019 Recommended Reading List includes two stories from Trace the Stars! “Knowing Me”, by Eric G. Swedin and “Cycle 335” by Beth Buck. Congratulations to the two of you! We’re glad to see your stories getting noticed. There are so many amazing stories on the list, and we are very proud to have these two stories there, too. Thanks to Victoria Silverwolf for reviewing the anthology for Tangent, and to Dave Truesdale…

Twilight Tales update for November 2019

First of all, thank you to everyone who submitted stories to Twilight Tales. We were overwhelmed with the number of submissions we received (more than twice as many as for A Dragon and Her Girl). We also appreciate everyone’s patience while we worked through all of them. That process is complete now, and all of the acceptance and rejections letters have been sent (one for each story submitted, so those who submitted more than one story will receive more than one letter). If you submitted and have not seen a letter yet, please check your spam/junk folder in case your…

The reading begins for Twilight Tales!

We are now reading the submissions for Twilight Tales. We hope to have them all reviewed and to determine which will be accepted within the next two weeks. There are more than twice as many submissions this time as for the last anthology, so it’s taking longer than we had planned. Thank you for your patience and your support!

Influential professors and others have mentored those planning and running the symposium, but many of these mentors have passed on. The symposium helps students of all ages by providing greatly discounted student memberships. Hemelein Publications—in…
