Victor William Prout (1862–1950) was born August 25, 1862 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England. He was the son of the photographer Victor Albert Prout and Amy Sarah Prout. He because a successful illustrator and engraver, publishing works in venues such as Pearson’s Magazine, The Harmsworth Magazine, and The Strand Magazine. He died at age 87 in 1950 in Canterbury, England.
